The San Diego Comic Con International Festival is one of the most notable events in the world of pop culture. This year, from October 2 to 5, its analogue was first held in Russia. The Russian Comic Con program promised a fan meeting of Star Wars fans, several workshops, a special screening of the movie "Obsession" and much more.
Last weekend, April 12 and 13, not far from the Sokol metro station, the first City food market this season was held. Both last year's participants - The Burger Brothers, Eating Standing, Punschmeister, Teabakery - and brand new ones: Giros, Pyan-se and Pyan-se number 1 (two different cafes with the same name and similar menu), Shrimp Happens, Kitchen Fuckers, Kvadrat Pizza, Brunch With Me, Shawarma Sisters and Bellissimo, Pestruccio!
The third City food market this year was held last weekend, June 21 and 22, in the courtyard of the Moscow Museum. It was the tenth anniversary event of the project since its inception. With these small menus these days, 28 cafes-participants appeared, more than, for example, on the previous market. Not without rain, but, fortunately, in the afternoon.
Last Saturday in Moscow for the fourth time was the gastronomic festival of the magazine "Poster-Food" - Holiday "Food". This time it became part of the Afisha Picnic in Kolomenskoye - the cafes of the participants, about 80 in all, were spread across the entire territory of the festival in four main zones of food courts, and what belongs to the Rynok part was scattered between these zones.
Life around is not the first month, in addition to regular sections and materials on hot topics, it has been practicing the release of packs of feature articles. A week of restrictions, a week of “Cheap Moscow”, a week of all of Russia, and even “Evil Moscow”. In the "Food" section, we also decided to introduce regular thematic weeks. It happened - and there is no particular reason, it just worked out - that the first was Kosher Moscow.
May 17 at the D.O.M. restaurant The most titled chef of Rostov-on-Don Anton Kochura went on tour. Together with Aidar Bakirov, he presented a unique menu of 8 innings, accompanied by specially selected wines from the L-wine collection. On the menu: duck liver mousse, crayfish in sour cream, quail, Black Sea herring, side of a bull, sour cream with dried apricots and pomelo with salted caramel.
Summer 2018 should go down in history as the summer of postironia. The world-forgotten singer Shura collects the full “GlavClub”, the brand “Dawn” issues t-shirts with prints in the style of “Hitler is alive and hiding in Tibet”, and young funny voices sing pop hits of his childhood at Pony Karaoke parties. Andrei Kovalev, United Russia party and founder of the Pilgrim rock band, opens Art & Food Sunflowers, an immense food court at Rokossovsky Boulevard metro station, where he gives lectures and concerts in the company of House 2 alumni.
On the evening of January 31, the FUTURO Gallery presented the Russian Table gastronomic set from the chef of Herring and Coffee Alexander Nikolayenko and sommelier Peter Antoshin. Five evening meals were offered to the guests of the evening: pickled onions in home vinegar, beef tartare with herb cream, baked cod with black mashed potatoes, guinea fowl with pearl barley porridge and Yuzu ice cream with gingerbread.
On May 25, Barceloneta restaurant celebrated its first birthday. The team managed to recreate the authentic atmosphere of a cozy Spanish courtyard somewhere in Girona. The guests were met by artists on celestial stilts, porters were seen off to the tables, dressed in scarlet balloons and white masks. They served fresh oysters and burnt salmon, tapas and pinchos.
Last weekend in the Krasnaya Presnya park, for the first time in Moscow, the gastronomic festival "Oh yes! Food!" About 60 restaurants, cafes and culinary projects took part in it. To try the food of the participants, it was necessary to pay not only for it, but also for the entrance to the festival: 500 rubles on the day of the event or 350 in advance.
At the end of May, the official opening of the summer terrace took place in The Bazar restaurant, in the Gorki Gorod resort. A gastronomic dinner for invited guests was held at the head of brand chef Ilya Zakharov. He presented the guests with the most striking gastronomic colors! Lightness, juiciness, seasonality, delicate taste and inspiration are confidently combined in new dishes from the summer menu.
Last weekend, a conference and street food festival Street Food Weekend was held in Kaliningrad, organized by the Kaliningrad creative group Sreda and the creators of the Moscow secret dinners and the Stay Hungry street party Anna Bichevskaya and Alena Ermakova. Both the conference and the street food festival were attended by Kaliningrad, Moscow and European participants.
Every year in a secret place in the suburbs passes Bakshevskaya Maslyanitsa. This holiday is arranged by a team of people who value Russian traditions and folk entertainment. The venue becomes known only to those who pre-write an application for participation - usually this is a large clearing in the forest near Moscow.
On March 6, a personal exhibition of street artist Pavel Pukhov, better known under the pseudonym Pasha 183., opened in the Moscow Museum of Modern Art on Gogolevsky Boulevard. The artist died in April last year, but became famous during his lifetime with his graffiti, installations and paintings. At the time of the exhibition, the MMSI halls were a continuation of streets with snow, fences, stops, telephone booths and video surveillance cameras.
Last week, the exposition of the Polytechnic Museum "Russia Makes Itself" opened in the 26th pavilion of the All-Russian Exhibition Center. It consists of 170 exhibits, half of which were made specifically for the exhibition. The exposition was divided into seven thematic blocks: “Beyond the Earth”, “Plasma Energy”, “Nuclear Energy”, “Radio +”, “Illusions”, “New Anthropogenesis” and “Analogs of Nature”.
In the coming May, the city will host the first icebreaker festival in Russia, dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the domestic icebreaker fleet. Already near the embankment of Lieutenant Schmidt and Promenade des Anglais, a branch of the Krasin Museum of the World Ocean and five operating vessels are moored - St. Petersburg, Moscow, Mudyug, Ivan Kruzenshtern and Captain Zarubin.
An interactive show exhibition "Ball of robots" has opened at the Artplay Design Center. On an area of two thousand square meters, more than 40 robots from Germany, Great Britain, the USA, Russia and other countries are located. The headliner of the exhibition was the Titan robot, which entertained athletes and fans at the Olympics in Sochi with its dances.
In a tent specially built on Konyushennaya Square, the multimedia exhibition Van Gogh Alive ("Van Gogh. Revived Canvases") opened - a project of the Australian company Grand Exhibitions, which has been touring the world for the last couple of years. The exposition involved three thousand dynamic images related to the life and work of the artist.
From today until mid-autumn, Book Square is open on Malaya Konyushennaya Street. In the pedestrian zone in the center, there are Signature Edition and Word Order kiosks designed by young architects from the Rhizome group, eight book exchange sites and gift shops for charitable foundations.

In St. Petersburg, the Street Art Museum started operating at full capacity. We talked about how it was being prepared for launch almost a year ago: then the administration of the laminate plant invited the first artists to form the main exposition. Now they have built museum pavilions, opened the first exhibition - Casus Pacis - and abolished the access regime on weekends.
